PM Modi Criticizes Congress in Lok Sabha: Rajiv Gandhi’s Betrayal of the Constitution, Indira Gandhi’s Emergency

PM Modi attacked Congress in Lok Sabha and said that people’s rights were snatched away during the emergency. Democracy was strangled. Justice HR Khanna, who gave the verdict against Indira Gandhi, was not allowed to become the Chief Justice. The country was oppressed and tyrannized. A ruthless government kept on breaking the Constitution. This tradition was carried forward by Indira after Nehru. After this, Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi gave another blow to the Constitution. He hurt the spirit of equality and justice for all. Shah Bano was given justice by the Supreme Court on the basis of the Constitution, then Rajiv Gandhi rejected the sentiments of that woman. He sacrificed the spirit of the Constitution for vote bank and supported the fundamentalists. He overturned the decision of the Supreme Court by making a law in the Parliament.

The Prime Minister said that Congress was so greedy for the amendment of the Constitution that it kept hunting the Constitution from time to time. The spirit of the constitution was bled. The constitution was changed 75 times in six decades. The seed sown by the first prime minister of the country was nurtured and watered by another prime minister, Indira Gandhi. In 1971, the decision of the Supreme Court was overturned by changing the constitution.

She had cut the wings of the country’s court. She had snatched the rights of the court then. There was no one to stop her. So when Indira ji’s election was rejected by the court and she had to resign from the post of MP, she imposed emergency on the country in anger. To save her seat and after that in 1975, she made the 39th amendment and what did she do in it – no one can go to court against the election of the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker, such a rule was made and it was implemented for the past as well.

PM Modi said in the Lok Sabha that Modi worships those whom no one cares about. We took care of the disabled. We created a common sign language for the disabled. Bonds were given to nomads. We gave loans to street vendors under the Swanidhi scheme. We made a plan for Vishwakarma welfare. We worked for the rights of transgenders. We worked for the tribal society.

There is a lot of talk of slogans here. The biggest slogan of this country was- Garibi Hatao. It was such a big slogan that there were talks of poverty, but Congress did not have time to build a toilet for them. We took up this work and completed it. It was mocked, but we did not waver in that work for the dignity of the people. That is why that work is getting completed. The people of this country were worried about clean drinking water. We have also taken this work forward with dedication. We gave cylinders to women, freeing them from smoke. We are giving free ration. Do not mock it. We are bringing people out of poverty. The poor had not seen the door of the bank. We got their bank accounts opened.

After 2014, NDA strengthened the Constitution. We ran a campaign to free them from chronic diseases. We made constitutional amendments for the unity of the country. We amended the Constitution to give respect to OBCs. It is our duty to stand with the downtrodden and downtrodden people of the society. We gave 10 percent reservation to the general public. We empowered women. We amended the Constitution for the unity of the country. We removed Article 370 with a bang. We brought CAA. We are proud of what we have done.

PM Modi said that I would like to tell those who search for names of people in the Constitution that Congress President Sitaram Kesari, who came from a very backward society, was insulted. He was locked in the bathroom. He was thrown on the footpath. The entire Congress was taken over by one family. Democracy was rejected. Messing with the Constitution has been in the veins of the Congress. For us, the sanctity and purity of the Constitution is paramount. We ran the government for 13 days. Games were played to destabilize governments. Votes were bought to save the government. In the 90s, the sin of bribing many MPs was committed. For Congress, the pleasure of power, the hunger for power is its history and present.

PM Modi said that there was an intense discussion on Uniform Civil Code in the Constituent Assembly. Baba Saheb Ambedkar had said that there is a need to abolish personal laws made on religious grounds. Munshi ji had then said that Uniform Civil Code is essential for the unity of the country. The Supreme Court has also talked about bringing UCC many times. We are working with full force to implement it. The people of Congress are disrespecting the sentiments of the constitution makers. For them, the constitution is a weapon of politics.

The PM said that those who have not accepted the constitution of their party. Their beginning itself was wrong. 12 Congress state committees had agreed on the name of Sardar Patel. There was not a single committee with Nehru ji. Under the constitution, Sardar Saheb would have become the Prime Minister of the country. But there is no faith in democracy, they did not believe in their own constitution. That is why Sardar ji did not become the Prime Minister and he sat. Those who do not believe in the constitution of their own party, how can they accept the constitution of the country.
