New Delhi: A day after the NDA secured a decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp political attack on the opposition, predicting a “major split” within the Congress party. Addressing party workers, the Prime Minister said the outcome in Bihar reflects the public’s loss of trust in the opposition and the growing instability inside the INDIA bloc.
PM Modi asserted that the NDA’s victory “has shaken the foundations of the opposition alliance,” adding that senior Congress leaders are “questioning the direction, leadership, and internal decision-making” of the party.
“Congress is heading toward a big split”
The Prime Minister claimed that cracks within the Congress were already visible and that the Bihar verdict had accelerated internal discontent.
“After this defeat, several factions inside the Congress will not remain silent. A major split is inevitable,” he said, alleging that the party’s leadership crisis continues to push its allies away.
Opposition unity under stress
Modi further said the opposition’s combined efforts failed to impress voters in Bihar, where the NDA registered a clear majority. According to him, the latest results prove that “people want stability and development, not confusion and contradictions.”
He also targeted the INDIA bloc, saying its partners “have no common ideology except political convenience,” and predicted further exits from the alliance in the coming months.
NDA gears up for 2025 campaigns
Celebrating the victory, the Prime Minister congratulated Bihar voters and credited the win to “good governance, development-driven politics, and trust in the NDA.” Party leaders said the results will energize upcoming state election campaigns and strengthen their national positioning for 2026.
