Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level emergency meeting in New Delhi today following reports of heightened Chinese troop activity near the Arunachal Pradesh border. Sources said the Indian Army and ITBP have intensified surveillance along sensitive stretches of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) after detecting multiple patrols by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
The meeting, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, and top military officials, focused on assessing India’s border readiness and diplomatic response strategy.
Officials said India remains committed to maintaining peace along the border but will respond strongly to any “unprovoked movement.”
An official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office noted, “India’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable. Security preparedness has been reviewed comprehensively.”
