The organization is joining the celebration as it continues to be committed to spotlighting authentic Latino experiences across the five boroughs. “More than a quarter or NYC’s population is Latino and National Hispanic Heritage Month is an important opportunity to celebrate the remarkable contributions Latino culture and heritage make to New York City’s five boroughs,” said Fred Dixon, President and CEO of NYC & Company. “There are countless ways to celebrate – through arts and cultural institutions, dining and nightlife, walking tours and historic sites, fashion and shopping, festivals and parades – not just in September and October, but year-round. Our content hub, ‘The Latino Experience in NYC’ on nycgo.com is the ultimate guide to help plan your celebrations and exploration.”

National Hispanic Heritage Month is an annual celebration through which the US government recognizes the contributions of the Hispanic community to the development of North American culture. This momentous occasion coincides with the anniversary of the discovery of America, as well as the celebration of the declaration of independence in countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile and Mexico.

As part of its commitment to the celebration of diversity in the most vibrant city on the planet, for 2022, NYC & Company curated 28 events scheduled from September 15 through October 15. The events are organized by cultural institutions and community organizations with the purpose of celebrating diversity, folklore, cuisine and culture.
