Elon Musk, the owner of the micro-blogging platform Twitter, is now preparing to collect money from ordinary users as well. Musk has announced that Twitter will allow users to charge for reading news or articles on the platform from next month. Musk says that users who do not sign up for a monthly subscription will have to pay a higher price to read the articles.
The company’s new owner Elon Musk has made a new announcement on his Twitter. Elon Musk has called it a victory for both media organizations and the public. He wrote, “Starting next month, the platform will allow media publishers to charge users per click on an article basis. This will be for users who don’t sign up for a monthly subscription when they want to read articles occasionally.” So pay a higher price per article. Should be a big win for both media organizations and the public.”
Musk had earlier talked about cutting content subscriptions by 10 percent. He had said that the platform is planning to take a 10 per cent cut on content subscriptions after the first year. At the same time, Musk is also considering monetization of content to increase the revenue source.
