Nimbu Pahad mining scam: CBI raided across the country to expose corruption

New Delhi – There are signs of acceleration in the investigation of illegal stone mining scam in Nimbu Pahad related to Jharkhand. According to reports, CBI officials have raided 16 places simultaneously. Apart from Jharkhand, there are reports of searches in Kolkata and Patna as well. Pankaj Mishra, an alleged political associate of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, is also under investigation in this case.

Central investigation agency officials said that during the raid on Tuesday, it searched several places in West Bengal and Bihar besides Jharkhand. Officials said that it conducted searches at 11 places in Sahibganj, Jharkhand. The premises of the suspects and their associates were searched at three places in Ranchi and one place each in Patna and Kolkata.

Investigating officials said that during the search, the CBI has recovered Rs 50 lakh in cash, one kilogram of gold and one kilogram of silver, besides documents of property worth crores of rupees. It is worth noting that after hearing the case related to illegal stone mining scam in Nimbu Pahad, the Central Investigation Agency had registered the case on November 23, 2023 on the instructions of the Jharkhand High Court.
