NIA conducts extensive raids across India to uncovering Al-Qaeda’s plot to destabilize the India

New Delhi – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted simultaneous and extensive searches at several places across the country in connection with the activities being carried out by some Bangladeshi nationals as part of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda’s conspiracy to spread instability in India. The action started early in the morning at nine places linked to persons suspected of supporting and funding the activities of the banned terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.

Two US citizens, including a woman, have been arrested in Madhubani, Bihar for traveling with illegal documents. Police said that they were allegedly trying to go to Nepal without valid travel documents. Police gave this information on Sunday. At the same time, a senior official in this case said that the arrested US citizens are residents of California. Police have also arrested two locals who provided them logistical support during their stay in Jayanagar area near the India-Nepal border.

Jaynagar Deputy Superintendent of Police Ankur Kumar said they were caught by SSB personnel when they were trying to enter Nepal without valid travel documents. The arrested US nationals are a couple. The Nepal-born woman married the man and took US citizenship. Officers of police, SSB and other concerned agencies jointly questioned the two. “Police have registered a case and arrested both the US nationals. Two locals have also been arrested for providing logistical support to them,” the Deputy Superintendent of Police said, adding the matter was being further investigated.
