NDMC Chairperson distributes prizes to the Hindi Competition winners

Chairperson, NDMC said that every employee use Hindi in their life self spontaneously, so that we celebrate this day as a celebration of a festival, not as encouragement day for Hindi

To encourage the use of Hindi language in day to day official working, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson, Shri Dharmendra distributed prizes among the 65 winners of Hindi Competition in a function organized by Hindi Department at NDMC Convention Center, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi today evening in the presence of Secretary, NDMC – Smt. Isha Khosla and Financial Advisor, NDMC – Shri Pushkal Upadhyay .

While addressing the gathering on the occasion, NDMC, Chairperson – Shri Dharmendra informed that Constitutional Assembly adopted the Hindi as a Official language in 1949 and since every year on 14th September we celebrate Hindi Diwas on that day to promote the use of Hindi in our Government offices.

The Chairperson, NDMC said that every employee use Hindi in their life self spontaneously, so that we celebrate this day as a celebration of a festival, not as encouragement day for Hindi.

NDMC organized various departmental Hindi Competitions consisting of Hindi Speech, Hand writing, Noting/Drafting, Poem and Debate during the “Hindi Pakhwada” in Hindi month, September 2021. More than 1,000 employees of various levels and fields like engineering, education, administration, accounts, finance, information technology, fire & security and medical services participated in these competitions.

The first, second and third prize winner of the Hindi writing competition are Ms. Anjali Bhatia, Shri Vicky Gupta and Shri Nand Kumar respectively. In Hindi Noting/Drafting competition, first, second and third prize goes to Shri Prashant Shukla,  Dr. B. L. Sirvi and Ms. Namrata. While in Hindi poem competition prizes goes to Shri Rajkumar, Shri Prashant Shukla and Shri B. L. Sirvi first, second and third respectively.  
Hindi Speech competition first, second and third winners are Shri Prashant Shukla, Ms. Poonam and Ms. Neelam Kaushik respectively. The Hindi debate competition prize winners are Shri Prashant Shukla,  Ms. Poonam and Shri Mahesh Chand Mishra,  first, second and third respectively.

Each winner of the competition was awarded with Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 2,500 for the first, second and third ranks respectively. A consolation prize of Rs. 1,000 was also given to 10 participants in each category of competition. A citation along with a memento has also been distributed among winners with prize money by the Chairman NDMC.

While presenting his vote of thanks Shri R N Singh, Director (Public Relations) NDMC encouraged the employees to use Hindi in day to day life as well as in Official work being a civic body worker to interact with common people for transparency.
