Revolutionizing Rural Economies: NRLM’s Bold Step Empowers 56 Lakh Women

INVC NEWS
New Delhi : The National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is set to transform the economic landscape of Chhattisgarh by empowering women through a strategic initiative. Under the ambitious plan, 56 lakh women are poised to become entrepreneurs, achieving financial prosperity. This groundbreaking mission is unfolding across four districts, where each district will witness the development of model clusters, serving as economic prosperity centers.

The Vision Unveiled

The blueprint of this transformative vision was revealed during a pivotal meeting at the Atal Nagar Circuit House in Nava Raipur. Attended by officials from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, the meeting saw the presence of key figures, including Central Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, and legislators Eshwar Sahu and Sushant Shukla.

Minister Giriraj Singh underscored the crucial role of women in the nation’s economic development, emphasizing that women’s participation stands at 56% at the national level, while Chhattisgarh is at 50%, signaling the need for enhancement. The mission aims not only to increase women’s involvement in agriculture but also to encourage the establishment of small enterprises through the National Rural Livelihood Mission.

Prime Minister’s Commitment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has articulated a resolute commitment to uplift women by making them wealthy through the Laakhpatti Yojana. The ambitious plan targets uplifting 56 lakh women to achieve affluence. To execute this vision, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department is gearing up to establish model clusters, supported by a financial infusion of ₹25 lakh from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

Model Clusters: A Catalyst for Economic Growth

These model clusters are not mere concepts; they are tangible manifestations of progress. The forthcoming projects will include poultry farming, goat rearing, and swine husbandry, coupled with the breeding of high-yield bovine species. Hybrid breeds, such as the robust Kadaknath chicken, will be bred to enhance the economic viability of these ventures.

As the nation celebrates 75 years of independence, Minister Giriraj Singh has directed the development of Amrit Sarovars around rural areas, ensuring a systematic and aesthetic evolution. The surrounding areas of these sarovars will witness tree plantation drives and the creation of pathways, enhancing both environmental aesthetics and economic prospects.

Collaboration for Progress

The roadmap to success involves collaborative efforts from various stakeholders. The Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, Niharika Barik, Chhattisgarh State CEO Bhim Singh, Padmini Bhoi, the director of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, and other senior officials from Panchayat and Rural Development and NABARD convened to strategize and facilitate the smooth execution of these transformative projects.

Meeting with Chief Minister

Continuing the momentum, Central Minister Giriraj Singh held discussions with Chief Minister Saay on the intricacies of implementing the National Rural Livelihood Mission in Chhattisgarh. The meeting delved into the geographical, cultural, and developmental nuances of the state, aligning them with the developed India initiative and government schemes.

The outcome of this discourse was a shared commitment to the holistic development of Chhattisgarh, leveraging its unique attributes. The Chief Minister, along with Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, legislator Eshwar Sahu, and Sushant Shukla, actively participated in this collaborative effort to propel Chhattisgarh towards economic prosperity.
