National Bravery Award-2009 winner children met Vice President

he ‘National Bravery Awards- 2009’ winner children met the Vice-President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari at his residence here today. 21 children have been selected for the awards and two of them have been given the award posthumously.

The Vice-President accompanied with his wife Smt. Salma Ansari. interacted with the brave children and their parents and encouraged them for their valour acts. The children shared with him their bravery acts. He consoled the parents of two posthumous awardees. He congratulated these brave children for their courageous acts and said that they have saved the precious lives of people and they deserve recognition. He said that these children have heard their inner voice and acted bravely to save the lives. He blessed the brave children grand success in their life and assured them all sorts of help in shaping their bright future.

The awardees will be granted financial assistance until they complete their school education under a sponsorship programme of the Council. Financial assistance is provided by some State Governments also. ICCW provides financial assistance under its ‘Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme’ to those children who undertake professional courses such as engineering and medicine. For other children, this assistance is provided till they complete their graduation. The Government of India has reserved some seats for the awardee children in medical and engineering colleges and polytechnics.

These awards were initiated in 1957. The selection for bravery awards were made by a high powered committee comprising representatives of various ministries/departments, non-governmental organizations as well as senior members of Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW). These children will participate in the Republic Day Parade.

I like the page structure and different shades, but I have to mention that I’m having difficulty when it loads. I’m making use of Lynxlet 7.1 internet browser for mac, and the top panel doesn’t line up properly. i am sure I have applied an equivalent design on a client’s web-site about hypnosis to lose weight, but the menu seems alright on mine. I imagine the error is with my browser and I reckon that it’s the perfect time to swap!

  37. So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can’t resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check.
