Mosques, Waqf, and Muslim Rights: Owaisi’s Fiery Lok Sabha Address

During the discussion on the Constitution in Parliament, AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that mosques in the country are in danger. Attempts are being made to snatch the Waqf Board. Muslims are being weakened. They are being prevented from contesting elections. Muslims are not able to win elections. Delimitation is not being implemented on the basis of the Sachar Committee report.

Owaisi said that Urdu is being eliminated. Muslim culture is being eliminated. He said that the Constitution is true. Article 26 of the Constitution gives the religious sect the right to establish and maintain institutions for religious and charitable purposes. The Prime Minister says that Waqf has nothing to do with the Constitution. Who is teaching the Prime Minister? He should be taught Article 26. The government’s goal is to snatch Waqf properties. They want to snatch it on the basis of their power.

Owaisi said that the delimitation of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha constituencies was done in such a way that Muslims could not win the elections. In 2007, the Sachchar Committee had asked for a fresh delimitation. I don’t think that when the new census will be conducted, the recommendations of the Sachchar Committee will be implemented. Those whose religion was Islam did not get reservation in Articles 15 and 16. Articles 25, 26, 29, 13, 14 and 21 are mentioned in the Constitution. They are not being followed properly.

Owaisi said that in many states a law was made that you cannot eat this, you cannot eat that. In Haryana and Rajasthan, police powers were given to cow protectors and they were misused in mob lynching. Giving an example, the AIMIM MP said that Sabir Malik was beaten to death because he had eaten beef. Later it was found out that nothing like this had happened. Junaid and Nafir have also been burnt alive. The law of Tabli Mazhab (conversion of religion) was brought. Do I have to ask the government to change my religion? BJP’s nationalism is of Hindutva.
