Nagpur, November 10: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday brushed aside questions over the organization’s non-registration status, describing the debate as “irrelevant” and reaffirming that the Sangh’s work is rooted in voluntary social service, not institutional formalities.
Speaking at an RSS gathering in Nagpur, Bhagwat emphasized that the Sangh operates through public trust and collective participation rather than administrative recognition. “The RSS is not a company that needs registration. Our strength comes from the people who selflessly serve society,” he said.
His remarks came amid renewed discussions about the legal and administrative status of the century-old organization. Bhagwat maintained that the Sangh’s mission of nation-building and character development remains unchanged, regardless of its formal registration.
He added that the RSS continues to function transparently through its various social and educational outreach programs across India, underscoring the organization’s focus on discipline, unity, and community service.
The comment drew mixed reactions across political circles, with supporters praising Bhagwat’s stance on moral leadership, while critics renewed calls for greater institutional accountability.
