After nearly nine years, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati staged a massive show of strength in Lucknow, drawing lakhs of supporters from across Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the crowd, Mayawati declared that if the BSP forms the government, her party would change every law that discriminates against Dalits and backward classes.

She said, “A government guided by the principle of ‘Sarvajana Hitaay, Sarvajana Sukhay’ will be formed. People will not have to migrate for livelihood. Unlike other parties, our supporters have not been paid to attend this rally — they have come with their hard-earned money.”

Mayawati Praises Akash Anand, Urges Support for Him

During her speech, Mayawati praised Akash Anand, calling him a dedicated leader expanding the BSP’s reach. She urged party workers to support Akash Anand in every situation, saying his efforts were vital for strengthening the BSP’s base across the state.

“BSP Will Contest Elections Alone in 2027”

The BSP chief reiterated that the party would contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections alone, citing past experiences where coalition governments fell prematurely. She explained that in alliances, “BSP’s votes go to allies, but the BSP never gains theirs.”

Mayawati alleged that caste-based parties like the Congress, BJP, and Samajwadi Party (SP) conspired to keep the BSP away from power at the Center, even using EVM manipulation to weaken her party’s prospects.

“We Will Protect Baba Saheb’s Constitution”

Mayawati emphasized that the BSP is the only party capable of protecting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution. She accused rival parties of trying to change it for their political gains. “No matter how much struggle it takes, we will not allow this to happen,” she asserted, calling on BSP workers to hold booth-level meetings to spread awareness of the BSP’s past achievements.

SP, Congress, BJP Opposed Reservation in Promotions

Targeting rival parties, Mayawati alleged that SP, Congress, and BJP opposed reservation in promotions, thereby denying Dalits and backward classes their rights. She reminded supporters that the SP even tore the reservation bill inside the Assembly, showing its disregard for social justice.

She also accused the Congress of insulting the Constitution by imposing the Emergency and accused both SP and Congress of betraying Dalits while pretending to honor Ambedkar’s legacy.

“SP and Congress Are Hypocritical”

Mayawati criticized Akhilesh Yadav for promising a memorial for Kanshi Ram, which he allegedly failed to build during his tenure. She said, “When these leaders are not in power, they remember BSP icons. But once they gain power, they forget them.”

Mayawati Thanks Yogi Government for Maintaining Kanshi Ram Memorial

Ending her address, Mayawati expressed gratitude to the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government for maintaining the Kanshi Ram Memorial built during BSP’s rule. She acknowledged that unlike the SP government, the current administration did not block ticket funds for visitors and instead spent money on the site’s maintenance.
