Hollywood : The Warner Bros. is once again returning with its popular film franchise ‘Matrix’. After the fourth part of ‘The Matrix Resurrection’ in the year 2021, now the studio has announced its fifth part ‘ Matrix 5 . Currently the makers are busy preparing for the film. This will be the first time that a film from the ‘Matrix’ franchise will be made without directors Lana or Lilly Wachowski.
A statement regarding the film said that Drew Goddard has joined Warner Bros. with a new idea. This is an incredible way to plan and continue the world of The Matrix that Lana and Lily started 25 years ago. As of right now, ‘Warner Bros.’ is thrilled to be making the new ‘Matrix’ movie with Drew.
It is noteworthy that the fourth part of ‘Matrix’, ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ was liked all over the world. Along with the audience, the film was highly appreciated by the critics also. The film grossed $159 million at the worldwide box office. However, no clear information has been revealed yet regarding the names of the actors in the ‘Matrix’ universe. It is not yet clear whether Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Maas, who play Neo and Trinity in the film, will be a part of it or not.
Whereas, Yahya Abdul-Mateen 2, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be a part of this film. However, there is also talk that ‘The Martian’ scriptwriter Drew Goddard will produce the film. Along with this, he will also write the script of the film with Sara Asberg. Meanwhile, Lilly Wachowski, who directed ‘The Matrix Resurrection’, the fourth part of the ‘Matrix’ franchise, is working on ‘Matrix 5’ as an executive producer.
It is worth noting that Drew Goddard was also nominated for an Oscar for the Matt Damon starrer science fiction film ‘The Martian’ directed by Ridley Scott. Now regarding this film, Goddard said, ‘Matrix’ has changed both cinema and my life. The artistry of Lana and Lily inspires me every day, I am grateful for this opportunity.
