The Government of Kerala is planning to establish an Oceanarium at Puthuvypin in Ernakulam District of Kerala. Government of Kerala has proposed that Ministry of Earth Sciences set up a research facility centre adjoining the Oceanarium. The Government of Kerala has not handed over any land for setting up a Marine Biological Institute. No feasibility report has been prepared for the research facility.
