Telugu star Manchu Manoj, known for his powerful performances, has set the internet ablaze with the release of the first glimpse from his upcoming pan-India film David Reddy. Titled Speed of David Reddy, the high-octane teaser promises a gripping historical action drama rooted in India’s freedom struggle.
After impressing audiences as a villain in Teja Sajja’s mythological thriller Mirai, Manchu Manoj is back in the lead role with a never-before-seen intense avatar. The 2-minute-39-second glimpse is packed with raw action, showcasing Manoj as a fearless revolutionary challenging the British Empire during the turbulent period from 1897 to 1922.
The teaser highlights references to iconic events like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Bhagat Singh. It depicts rising anger against colonial rule, with David Reddy deciding to manufacture weapons in a secret factory to fight back. A standout element is the custom bike named “War Dog,” symbolizing speed, rage, and rebellion – adding a unique thrill to the period setting.
Directed by debutant Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti, David Reddy is produced by Motukuri Bharath and Nallagangula Venkat Reddy under Velvet Soul Motion Pictures. The film boasts music by Ravi Basrur (famous for KGF and Salaar), stunning cinematography by Acharya Venu, and high-intensity action sequences.
This ambitious project is slated for a pan-India release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English. Shooting has officially begun, and fans are already buzzing about Manoj’s rugged transformation and the film’s rebellious theme.
At the grand glimpse launch event in Hyderabad on December 17, Manchu Manoj expressed gratitude to his fans, calling David Reddy a “full meals feast” for them.
