New Delhi : This question must be running in your mind that what is the relation of Ram Navami with Chaitra Navratri. Lord Ram was born on Navami Tithi of Chaitra Navratri. It is believed in Hindu religion that on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Lord Vishnu took his seventh incarnation on earth in the form of Lord Shri Ram.
The festival of Chaitra Navratri was celebrated even before the birth of Lord Ram. It is said that during the days of Navratri, Mother Durga resides on earth and fulfills all the wishes of her devotees. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Navratri is celebrated four times a year. In which one is the festival of Chaitra Navratri, the other is Sharadiya Navratri and two are Gupt Navratri. Chaitra Navratri starts from the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. This year, Pratipada Tithi of Chaitra Shukla will start on 08th April at 11.50 pm. This date will end the next day i.e. 09th April at 08:30 in the evening. According to Udaya Tithi, Chaitra Navratri will start on 09 April. Which will conclude on 17th April on the day of Ram Navami. The Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month will start on 16th April at 01:23 pm and will end on the next day i.e. 17th April at 03:14 pm. Udaya Tithi is valid in Sanatan Dharma. Therefore, Ram Navami will be celebrated on 17th April.
