Liquor Scam Fallout: Arvind Kejriwal to Resign, Seeks Fresh Delhi Polls

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who is embroiled in a liquor scam, will resign from his post after two days, but even after this he can continue in his post as the caretaker Chief Minister. Even after resigning, he will not leave the Chief Minister’s residence till the Delhi Assembly elections. The Aam Aadmi Party is currently thinking about what constitutional options Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena will have if the Chief Minister resigns from his post, which he can use. Kejriwal has said that he will resign from his post and demand to go directly to the elections in November.

Before this, the BJP was constantly pressurizing Arvind Kejriwal to resign from his post. For this, it was making the basis of public work not being done due to Kejriwal being in jail. But suddenly Arvind Kejriwal has snatched a big issue from the hands of the BJP by announcing his resignation from his post. Even after serving 156 days in jail in the liquor scam, Arvind Kejriwal did not resign. His image was getting affected by this and somewhere the BJP was getting benefit from it. BJP was planning to take lead by fighting the elections on this issue, but Kejriwal suddenly changed the whole game by announcing his resignation from his post.

BJP was continuously demanding that due to Arvind Kejriwal being in jail, the work of the people of Delhi is getting affected and hence President’s rule should be imposed in Delhi. But after the announcement of Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, the situation has suddenly changed. Now the whole matter has come down to Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation and the elections after that.
