Know all about INS Vikrant

The Navy got its first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over this aircraft carrier to the Navy in the commissioning ceremony that lasted about one and a half hours at the Kochi shipyard. Also another big change took place. Navy handed over the new naval flag. From this, the red mark of the cross, the symbol of the British, has been removed. Now it has the tricolor and the Ashoka symbol, which PM Modi dedicated to Maharaj Shivaji.

1. This powerful picture of a strong India

Prime Minister Modi said, “This is a proud moment for Indians. This is an example of India’s talent. This is a powerful picture of a strong India. This is the incomparable elixir of Amrit Mahotsav. It tells that if you are determined, nothing is impossible. Today we are witnessing the rise of new sun. The amount of electricity it generates. It can light 5 thousand houses. It is equal to two football grounds. Cable and wire starts from Kochi and reaches Kashi These complexity are examples of the vitality of our engineers.”

2. New Navy Flag Dedicated To Shivaji

Modi said- Enemies used to tremble with Shivaji’s sea power. Today I dedicate the new Navy flag to Chhatrapati Veer Shivaji Maharaj. This new flag will strengthen the strength and self-respect of the Navy. Till now the Navy flag had a picture of slavery. We have removed this picture.

3. INS Vikrant infuses new confidence in India

Modi said – Vikrant is huge, it is special, it is proud. It’s not just warship. It is a testimony to the hard work, skill and diligence of 21st century India. Today India has joined the list of countries that can build such large ships with their technology. Today INS Vikrant has filled Indians with new confidence.

Know the New Navy Flag

The Indian Navy got a new naval flag on Friday. Earlier it had a red cross mark. It has been removed. Now the tricolor is on the left and the Ashoka Chakra symbol on the right. It is written below it – Sham no Varuna: That means Varuna is auspicious for us. Earlier there was a red cross on the flag of the Navy. It was St. George’s Cross, which was part of the Union Jack, the British flag. St. George’s Cross was the symbol of a Christian saint and warrior.

The Red Cross was removed in 2001 and reinstated in 2004. From 2001 to 2004, the Ashoka symbol was placed in it.
In 2014, Satyamev Jayate was written under the blue Ashoka emblem.

INS Vikrant reborn after 25 years

INS Vikrant was retired from the Navy on 31 January 1997. Now after almost 25 years, INS Vikrant is once again being reborn. What changed for India

The warship got the power to carry 20 fighter jets: India now has the largest indigenous warship, which is capable of carrying 20 MiG-29 fighter jets. Its cost is about 20 thousand crore rupees. In the 1971 war, INS Vikrant with its Seahawk fighter jets destroyed enemy positions in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Khulna in Bangladesh. It was retired 25 years ago. But, after the Kargil war of 1999, we needed indigenous aircraft. Its construction started in 2009. 500 companies gathered and got it done. Only 4 countries have ships carrying this much weight: Vikrant is an aircraft carrier weighing 40 thousand tons. Only the US, Russia, Britain and France in the world have the capacity to build aircraft carriers weighing 40 thousand and above. Vikrant is capable of carrying 20 MiG-29 fighters and ten helicopters. India has only one aircraft carrier, INS Vikramaditya, after the retirement of INS Viraat in 2017. PLC/GT
