After making generations laugh with its quirky characters and iconic catchphrases, the beloved ‘Khichdi’ franchise is returning to the big screen. In a delightful revelation, actor-producer Jamnadas Majethia (JD Majethia) has officially announced ‘Khichdi 3’, the third installment of the cult comedy series.

📺 From TV Craze to Cinema Classic

First aired in 2002, Khichdi won hearts across the country as a sitcom revolving around the hilariously dysfunctional Parekh family. Owing to its immense popularity, the show later spawned two films that carried forward its signature brand of humor.

Now, two decades later, JD Majethia is preparing to bring the madness back with a bang.

“We will make another Khichdi in 2027 — Khichdi 3,” JD Majethia declared during a special anniversary episode on Farah Khan’s YouTube show, where the original cast had reunited.

The full cast reunion, including Supriya Pathak, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, and Nimisha Vakharia, celebrated the show’s legacy and its unique place in Indian pop culture.

That’s not all. JD Majethia also hinted at re-releasing the original ‘Khichdi’ movie on World Laughter Day, May 4, 2025. The plan, he says, is to bring the film back to theatres and rekindle the laughter for a new generation.

“It’s not just a film. It’s a celebration of Indian comedy, family madness, and timeless fun,” JD remarked.
