 On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, a three-day state-level youth festival began at the Science College ground in Raipur. Chief guest Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and other distinguished guests inaugurated the ceremony.

          On this occasion, Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike congratulated Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Umesh Patel for the Youth Festival and said that this festival will provide encouragement and  exposure to the budding talents of sports and culture of the state through various competitions based on rural sports, folk dance, fine arts and classical music. She said that the state government  has taken laudable steps to keep sports and culture alive  in the state by  organizing grand events like this youth festival, Rajyotsav and Tribal dance festival. Governor congratulated Shri Bhupesh Baghel and said that under his leadership, the state is making all-round progress and will set new records of development. Governor said that the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is significant not just for our country but for the whole world. She  applauded the decision by the state government to establish a memorial of Swami Vivekanand at Dey Bhawan Budhapara in Raipur .Giving a message to the youth she said that if they move ahead with determination, they will definitely get success in life.

          The Governer, praised the folk dance based march past presented by the artists from all the 27 districts and  announced an award of Rs 5 thousand to each  dance party.

       Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the youth festival said that this day has special importance for Chhattisgarh as Swami Vivekanand spent  2 years of his life in Raipur and thus has a deep connection with the State . He said that the ‘Dey Bhawan’ where Swami Vivekananda had stayed in Budhapara for 2 years, will be developed as Swami Vivekananda memorial. In exchange of this property, Dey Charitable Trust has been granted land in Malaria Tuberculosis Hospital Kalibari Raipur. On this occassion The Chief Minister also remembered Swami Atmanand and said that he revived Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, ideals and principles in Chhattisgarh. He established the Ramakrishna Paramahamsa ashram in Raipur and Narayanpur,  which are being operated very well. A school is being run in the name of Swami Vivekananda at Kota in Raipur. Chief Minister told that Swami Vivekananda  wanted the youth to be strong and have muscles of steel. He wanted to see them in playground instead of being involved in religious activity. Shri Baghel said that our youth should imbibe the thoughts and ideals of Vivekananda, concentrating  in sports along with studies will keep them away from addictions. Chief Minister gave a new slogan of Khelbo-Jeetbo-Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh to the youth.

          In his welcome address, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, Shri Umesh Patel said that more than 7000 youth and artist participating in this festival will get an opportunity to show their skills. In addition to cultural events, sports and intellectual competition are also being organized. He said that the youth of the state will gather a new experience from here and will return next year with new enthusiasm. International boxer and Olympic medalist, Mr. Vijender Singh, also attended the festival. Addressing the youth on this occasion, he said that no one loses in the game, the player either wins or learns. Shri Vijender Singh congratulated Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for establishing Sports Development Authority in the State. He said that for the first time rural sports have been included in the youth festival.This will give a new dimension to these games. He appreciated the National Tribal Dance Festival organized by the state recently and said that it is a matter of great pleasue that the Government has  tribals on its priority. He said that the players need only respect which is being given by the state.

          On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Minister of Women and Child Development Smt. Anila Bhedia, Revenue Minister Shri Jaisingh Agarwal, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Chaubey, Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat, Industry Minister Shri Kawasi Lakhma, Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly Shri Manoj Mandavi, MLA Shri Mohan Markam, MLA Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Shri Vikas Upadhyay, Shri Kuldeep Juneja, Shri Shailesh Pandey and Smt. Anita Yogendra Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri R.P. Mandal, Director General of Police Shri D.M.Awasthi, Chairman of Revenue Board Shri C. K. Khaitan, Mayor Shri Ejaz Dhebar, Chairman of Municipal Corporation Shri Pramod Dubey were present.

Governer and Chief Minister released Sports Development Authority logo

          Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today released the logo of Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority from the platform of Yuva Mahotsav. It is noteworthy that Sports Development Authority has recently been constituted by the state government for the development of sports in Chhattisgarh.

Divyang children honored

          Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uike and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today honored the Divyang children Suman Yadav, Roopvarsha, Vasundhara and Abhinandan who sang the song ‘Mor Raipur-Swachh Raipur’ at the Youth Festival. All the four children belong to the Government vision and hearing impaired school of Mathpurena.
