Khalistani Supporters Attack Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton

Brampton – Alleged Khalistani supporters attacked devotees at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton, Canada. At the time the incident took place, women and children were also present in the premises. According to reports, women and children present in the temple have also been attacked. This incident may further increase tension in India-Canada relations. After the situation became tense, the local police deployed security forces to control the situation. The police have assured that adequate security arrangements have been made to prevent any kind of violence.

After this incident, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned this violence. He called the violent incident unacceptable and said that all Canadian citizens have the right to practice their faith safely. Apart from the Prime Minister, opposition leader Pierre Poilievre, MP Kevin Wong and Chandra Arya in the Canadian Parliament also condemned the incident. He described this incident as unacceptable and dangerous extremism.

MP Chandra Arya described the attack by Khalistani extremists at Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton as an act of ‘crossing the red line’. Condemning the attack on the Hindu community, he said that Khalistani extremism has taken a violent form in Canada. Such elements are getting ‘liberation’ in the name of freedom. Arya also appealed to the Hindu-Canadian community to raise their voice for their safety and hold the leaders accountable for such incidents.
