ISRO gave good news: Chandrayaan-4 will bring soil samples from the moon

Everyone’s eyes are on the Chandrayaan-4 mission. It will be launched in the year 2029 and its possible cost is Rs 2104 crore. Recently, ISRO gave the good news that Chandrayaan-4 will bring two to three kg of soil samples from the moon.

Five types of modules will work in Chandrayaan-4. Ascender Module (AM), Descender Module (DM), Re-entry Module (RM), Transfer Module (TM) and Propulsion Module (PM). These will be launched in two different MVM 3 launch vehicles. According to the Economic Times report, ISRO has said that after landing on the moon, the robotic arm, also known as the surface sampling robot, will extract two to three kg of soil from around the landing site and then fill it in the container mounted on the AM.

The containers containing the samples will be sealed to prevent leakage during the journey to Earth. ISRO said in a statement that the various stages of collecting the soil will be monitored through video cameras. Earlier, while talking to NDTV, ISRO Chief S Somnath had said that Chandrayaan-3 has shown that it is possible for us to land at any place on the moon and then the scientific experiments have been very good.

The next step is to go there and come back safely, and to do this we need to develop many technologies. All this is part of Chandrayaan-4. There will also be scientific missions like sample collection. He said that if India goes to the moon, we will bring something new.

There are many difficulties in bringing something back from the moon. You have to drill from different places and collect it. Then there is a robotic activity of taking the sample and collecting it in a container. Then the container also needs to be shifted from that place to the lander which will fly from the moon.
