Tehran, Iran | November 16, 2025:
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Sunday that Iran is no longer enriching uranium, offering a significant update on the country’s nuclear program at a moment of intense international attention. The statement comes against the backdrop of recent strategic discussions between Israel and the United States, which have increased global scrutiny of Tehran’s nuclear intentions.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s nuclear activities are currently limited to peaceful and civilian purposes, asserting that enrichment operations have been halted in accordance with Iran’s “new strategic assessment.” However, he did not specify whether the suspension is permanent or conditional on diplomatic progress.

The announcement follows renewed pressure from Western governments and regional actors urging Iran to clarify the status of its nuclear program. Analysts suggest the move may be aimed at reducing tensions and opening the door for potential negotiations involving Washington and other major powers.

International observers, including the IAEA, are expected to seek verification of Iran’s claims amid ongoing concerns about transparency and regional security implications.
