According to the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has secretly conducted several tests towards making a nuclear bomb. The IAEA has said that Iran has increased its stock of weapons-grade uranium by 60 percent. In February, the stock of uranium was 133.8 kg, which has reached 408.6 kg in May.
The IAEA team could not find out
According to the report of the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, the IAEA team visited the nuclear test sites in August 2020, but the international team could not reach the bunker from where everything was being controlled. Later Iran demolished those bunkers. The report said that Tehran has enough material to make 10 nuclear bombs.
Two implosion tests were conducted in 2003
Iran conducted two implosion tests between 15 February and 3 July 2003. This is the same technique that is used to blast the core of a nuclear bomb. Iran had relaxed its nuclear testing program after US pressure. Under the 2015 agreement with Western countries including the US, Iran had agreed to ban nuclear activity, but in 2018, the then US President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the agreement. Experts believe that after this move by the US, Iran started working rapidly on its nuclear testing program.
Talks are going on regarding the nuclear deal
This can have a direct impact on the ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the US. It was believed that Iran and the US have once again come very close to a nuclear deal. This step of Iran can worsen the atmosphere between the two countries. IAEA said that Iran had planned to do a cold test in which the core would have nuclear material, natural or depleted uranium.
Trump had threatened Iran
President Donald Trump had said that if the talks on the nuclear deal with Iran fail, then he can destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities. Iran has conducted a nuclear test at a time when America has increased its military deployment on Diego Garcia Island in the Indian Ocean.
Diego Garcia Island is a military strategic base of America. From where America keeps an eye on the Middle East. America has deployed bombers and F-15 fighter jets here. This deployment is being seen as a strategy to put pressure on Iran.
Recently Saudi Defense Minister visited Iran
Saudi Defense Minister Mohammad Khalid bin Salman recently visited Tehran. During this time he met top leaders of Iran. Salman had also warned Iran in a diplomatic tone that Iran should take the ongoing nuclear deal talks with America seriously, otherwise the danger of war between Iran and Israel could increase.
