Lucknow – : 1988 batch IPS Vijay Kumar has been appointed as the new acting DGP of UP. He will hold the additional charge of Acting DGP with DG Vigilance, DG CBCID. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued orders in this regard.
Acting DGP RK Vishwakarma retired on May 30. Before him, DS Chauhan was also made acting DGP. There was talk that in view of the Lok Sabha elections, DG CBD Vijay Kumar could be made acting DGP. For the post of new police chief of the state, either one of DG Cooperative Cell Anand Kumar and Vijay Kumar was to be selected. Today Chief Minister Yogi stamped the name of IPS Vijay Kumar.
