Industrial development getting big boost in H.P.

Industrialization  has been given big boost in H.P. with twin objective of creating employment and self employment avenues on the one hand and economic development on sustainable basis on the other. Serene and pollution free environment, better law and order situation and uninterrupted power supply are some of the added advantages which the entrepreneurs finds here. The Government of Himachal Pradesh is ensuring that industries being set up in the State get uninterrupted power supply and best of the infrastructure. The efforts of the State Government in this direction are bearing good results and Solan, Sirmaur and Una districts are emerging as the hub of industrialists activities.Tahaliwal of Santokhgarh area of district Una is emerging as a industrial centre in the border area of Himachal Pradesh. Many national and multi national companies have set up their units in Tahaliwal. World famous biscuit manufacturing company Ceremica, world renowned sports shoes, T-shirts  and other leather product manufacturing company Puma and Saber Company which is producing high quality paper are among some of the companies who have established their units here.

World famous biscuit manufacturing company Ceremica has a production plant in Tahaliwal which has an annual turnover  of Rs. 4298 crores. More than 80 percent of the employees who are working here are Himachalis. The company has constructed a State of the art canteen to facilitate its employees. Company is also providing accommodation to its employees. All precautions are being taken by the Company to safeguard the fragile environment of the area.

Saber Paper Ltd. which has a plant in Tahaliwal is producing paper of high quality which is being used for computer purposes. The Saber Company is producing paper from waste paper and the water used for this purpose is being recycled by the Company which is not only saving the precious water resources but also helping in conserving the environment. Besides providing transport facilities to its employees, the Saber company is also constructing a hospital for them. 1600 employees work in Saber company and out of these more than 77 percent are residents of Himachal Pradesh.

A known name in agro products the Sukhjit Agro Industries has also established its manufacturing plant in village Gurpalah  of Tahaliwal area. This company is producing starch, liquid glucose and dry glucose besides producing many other agro based products. Products of this company are being used in pharmaceutical and confectionary industries. Many of its products are also being used in manufacturing edible oil. Sukhjit Agro Industries procure all of its agro raw material from the farmers of the nearby areas. Out of its 190 employees, 153 belong to Himachal Pradesh. Besides providing accommodation to its employees the company is also providing transportation facilities to their children.

Many other national and multinational companies have also established their manufacturing plants in and around Tahaliwal which are contributing immensely in strengthening the socio economic conditions of local residents.

All companies who have established their units in Tahaliwal are strictly following the rules prescribed by the State Government and are providing employment to more than 70 percent youth of the State. All companies have also established necessary infrastructure and equipment to safeguard the precious environment of the State. These companies are also taking part in social welfare activities with the help of local people.

Due to the concerted efforts of present State Government,  the State has been able to attract investment of more than Rs. 11418 crore in 2060 industrial units which will provide employment to more than one lac persons.  All these proposals have been cleared by the State Government.

The State Government has established single window clearance and monitoring authority to provide all facilities to the industrialists at one place. This has resulted in rapid industrialization in the State.
