New Delhi : To make the journey easy and comfortable, the rules have been changed by the Railways. For some time now, many such pictures and videos went viral on social media, in which there is a huge crowd in the reservation bogie due to waiting tickets. Now the Railways has changed the rule of waiting ticket to be strict on this. According to the new rule, only passengers with confirmed reservation will be able to travel in the reservation coach.

Indian Railways has changed the rule of waiting tickets for this. With the waiting tickets of the railways, you will no longer be able to travel in the reservation bogie or AC coach, whether you have taken the ticket through online booking or from the ticket counter. That is, even if you have taken the waiting ticket from the ticket counter, you will not be able to sit in the reserved coach i.e. reservation bogie with that waiting ticket.

According to the rules of the Railways, if you book a waiting ticket online from IRCTC, then you will not be able to travel in the reserved coach with it. If the ticket is not confirmed, your money will be refunded automatically. If you have taken a waiting ticket from the counter, earlier people used to enter the reservation coach with waiting tickets, but now this will not happen. With a waiting ticket bought from the railway ticket counter, you will be able to travel only in the general coach. There will be no exemption to travel in reservation or AC coaches.

If you travel in reserved coaches with a waiting ticket, the TTE can make you get down at the next station. Along with this, you will have to pay a fine. Passengers traveling on waiting tickets will not get entry in the reservation coach. If you are caught doing this, you will have to pay a fine of up to Rs 440. If you go to a reserved coach with a waiting ticket, you will have to pay a hefty fine. If caught doing this, the fare from the starting station to where the journey has been completed and a fine of at least Rs 440 can be charged from you.
