I break my web series virginity with this show

Be it right from the time where viewers were intrigued about what the name meant, to its recently released songs, ALTBalaji and ZEE5 Club’s Bebaakee made everyone want to see more of the show. Well, all those weeks of waiting have finally come to an end as the two leading home-grown platforms hosted a star-studded digital press conference today, ahead of the launch of the much-awaited romantic drama on August 30th. Hosted by RJ Rohini Ramanathan, one saw this stellar cast including, Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani, Shivjyoti Rajput, and Suchitra Pillai, engage with members of the media fraternity and fans in an interactive QnA session held online.

The highly engaging press conference got off to an exciting start as the incredible host Rohini spoke about how the show has been the talk of the town owing to its intriguing storyline and characters. And that’s not all, Kushal Tandon also surprised the media and fans in his Sufiyaan’s media owner avatar where he thanked fellow media for relentlessly working throughout the lockdown and keeping us updated! The excitement then went a notch higher as Akhil Sachdev crooned out the lovely melody Galliyaan making everyone hum the soothing track. Taking the conversation forward, one saw the trailer of the show being telecasted to those present, before kick-starting the enthralling interactive session with the cast of Bebaakee. Last, but certainly not the least, the cast ended things on a memorable note, by thanking members of the media for their love and support in a heartfelt manner.

Speaking at the event, Kushal Tandon commented, “It’s great to be part of the emerging Indian OTT industry that explores a host of diverse genres and allows us, actors, to perform roles that bring out the best in us. Speaking about Bebaakee, it is a show that is centered around family relationships. It’s a love story filled with a lot of love and emotions that the entire household can watch together. My character, who’s named Sufiyaan, is one who doesn’t believe in the concept of love, but when he falls head over heels in love with Kainaat, is where the Bebaakee begins..”

Sharing his thoughts about the show, Karan Jotwani said, “I break my web series virginity with this show and at the same time I have realised that it’s a very interesting platform since I do more of TV. The OTT space seems far more realistic and challenging for an actor. There are a lot of layers for every character to showcase which usually doesn’t happen in every web-series. What I can say about Imtiaz is that he’s a character that you’ll hardly find or see in anyone. He is too nice. It’s been a great journey and experience to be part of such a show and I am very sure that it is going to see viewers being hooked to their screen..”

A very excited Shivjyoti Rajput said, “I was very excited and thrilled at the same time when I got to know that I am going to be a part of Bebaakee. I wanted to get the nuances of the character spot on which is why I took some time to prepare for the role of Kainaat before shooting could commence. This saw me watching a lot of shows featuring Muslims or having Islam as a backdrop to learn Urdu and their culture since that’s the essence of our show. Lastly, I’d like to thank the wonderful team that I worked with as each and every one of them helped me play the role of Kainaat to the best of my abilities.”

Bebaakee is a story of love, passion, and madness between two people, Sufiyaan and Kainaat. In the show, their bond that begins due to their mutual love for journalism is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Although destiny brings Sufiyaan (Kushal Tandon) and Kainaat (Shivjyoti Rajput) together in this romantic web series, they are unable to understand whether their passion is paired with love or hate. Rounding off the trio, Imtiaz (Karan Jotwani) makes the entry in their lives that takes them by shock. While Imtiaz is what every woman wants, Sufiyaan sets out on a mission to ruin Kainaat and Imtiaz.

Offering viewers, a different take on love, friendship, relationships, and family, Bekaabee promises to be nothing less than an exciting watch.
