How to worship Holi, know the complete ingredients and the right method of worship
In the year 2023, the festival of Holika Dahan is being celebrated on March 7 and Holi i.e. Dhulendi festival will be celebrated on March 8. According to the belief in this regard, along with the worship material, a shield made of cow dung is also kept near Holika. During the auspicious time of Holika Dahan, 4 garlands are kept separately. In this, one garland is kept in the name of the ancestors, the second for Shri Hanuman ji, the third in the name of Mother Sheetla and the fourth in the name of the family.
After this, the thread of yarn is wrapped around Holi with full devotion. Holika’s parikrama is done 3 or 7 times. After this, other worship materials including pure water are offered one by one to Holika. Then Arghya is given with water before lighting the fire. Roli Tilak is applied to all the men present at the time of Holika Dahan.
It is said that after Holika Dahan, it is auspicious to bring the burnt ashes to the house the next morning. Holika’s ashes are also applied on the body at many places. Holika Dahan Pujan Method – Holika Dahan Puja Vidhi
First of all, for Holika Pujan, sit with your face towards east or north.
Now sprinkle drops of water around you.
Make idols of Holika and Prahlad with cow dung.
Keep roli, raw yarn, rice, flowers, whole turmeric, batashe, fruits and a kalash of water in the plate.
While remembering Lord Narasimha, offer Roli, Molly, Rice, Batashe and flowers on the idols.
Now take all the things and take them to the place of Holika Dahan.
– Before lighting the fire, taking your name, father’s name and clan’s name, raise it in Akshat (rice) and remember Lord Shri Ganesh and offer Akshat on Holika.
After this, take the name of Prahlad and offer flowers.
Offer five grains while chanting the name of Lord Narasimha.
Now offer Akshat, turmeric and flowers with folded hands.
Take raw yarn in hand and wrap it around Holika.
At the end, pour gulal and offer water from a silver or copper urn.
