New Delhi : The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is inviting nominations for the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2022. This award aims to recognize the achievements of individuals involved in the field of adventure and encourage young people to develop qualities such as endurance, risk-taking, teamwork, and quick reflexes in challenging situations.
Nominations for the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2022 can be submitted online through the portal https://awards.gov.in. The nomination period is from 15th June, 2023, to 14th July, 2023. Individuals who have demonstrated excellent performance, exceptional leadership qualities, a sense of adventure, discipline, and continuous achievements in one specific field of adventure (Land, Air, or Water/Sea) are eligible to apply for the award. The deadline for submission of nominations is 14th July, 2023, through the aforementioned portal.
The Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award 2022 includes a bronze statuette, a certificate, a blazer with a silken tie/saree, and an award money of Rs. 15 lakh. The awards are presented to the winners alongside the Arjuna Awards by the Government of India.
Typically, one award is given in each of the following categories: Land Adventure, Water (Sea) Adventure, Air Adventure, and Lifetime Achievement for adventure activities on Land, Sea, and Air. For the three categories of Land Adventure, Water (Sea) Adventure, and Air Adventure, achievements from the last three years are considered. For the Lifetime Achievement award, the achievements throughout the recipient’s career are taken into account.
