Special Air Force aircraft transported the deceased back to India, and efforts are ongoing to aid the injured. The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences and promised comprehensive support from both the Central and State Governments.

Celebrating Maharashtra’s Rich Cultural Heritage

Prime Minister Modi praised Maharashtra’s vibrant culture and traditions, which he encountered during his recent visit to Poland. He highlighted the deep respect the Polish people hold for Maharashtra’s historical contributions, such as the Kolhapur Memorial honoring the royal family’s refuge of Polish citizens during World War II. Modi emphasized Maharashtra’s legacy of bravery and valor, embodied by figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mata Jijabai, and Savitribai Phule, whose contributions have profoundly shaped the state’s history and culture.

He commended the efforts of Maharashtra’s women, noting that their success stories reflect the spirit of influential historical figures like Rajmata Jijabai and Savitribai Phule. The Prime Minister reiterated that the campaign has significantly improved rural economies and uplifted women’s social status.

Significant Achievements and Future Goals

Reflecting on the past decade, Modi noted the creation of one crore Lakhpati Didis and the recent addition of 11 lakh new members in just two months. He acknowledged Maharashtra’s contribution to this success, with 1 lakh Lakhpati Didis emerging from the state alone. The Prime Minister praised the collaborative efforts of the state government, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his team, in empowering women through innovative schemes and programs.

Transforming India’s Rural Economy

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Lakhpati Didi initiative is more than just a financial boost; it is a transformative force for rural economies. By increasing income and purchasing power, the program uplifts entire families and communities. Modi asserted that women’s economic empowerment plays a crucial role in India’s growth, highlighting that the current government has made more strides in women’s development than previous administrations.

Commitment to Women’s Safety and Legal Reforms

Addressing the issue of women’s safety, Modi underscored the government’s commitment to stricter laws and rapid justice for victims of violence. He mentioned reforms under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) that facilitate easier reporting of crimes and ensure stringent punishments for perpetrators. Modi reassured that the government remains resolute in its fight against gender-based violence and continues to enhance legal protections for women.

Maharashtra’s Role in India’s Progress

Concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi lauded Maharashtra for its role in India’s development and called for continued investment and job creation in the state. He stressed the importance of a stable government to foster industrial growth, education, and youth employment. Modi expressed confidence that Maharashtra’s women and youth will drive the state toward a prosperous future.
