High court demands immediate government action to combat malaria and diarrhea outbreaks

Bilaspur: In the reply presented by the Chief Secretary in the High Court, it has been said that the government and administration are working together to control malaria and diarrhea. Patients are being treated in all the affected areas. Camps are being set up and medicines are being given after examination. People are also being made aware. On this, the court said that we hope that patients will not have to be deprived of treatment.

The Division Bench of the Chief Justice directed that no patient should return from the hospital due to lack of bed or medicine. Along with this, the court has scheduled the next hearing on August 13, giving instructions to present an action plan to make adequate arrangements for treatment and prevent the spread of the disease.

The High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the death of two children from malaria in Tenganmada of the district, taking the patient to the hospital in Kanwar and the news of death from malaria at many places in the state. The Division Bench of the Chief Justice had issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of the state on July 18 and asked him to respond. Two brothers Imran and Irfan aged 12 and 15 years of Tenganmada of Kota Vikaskhand died on Wednesday during treatment at Kota Community Health Center.

The quack doctor had administered saline and injection to both the children. After this, when their health deteriorated, they were brought to the government hospital of Kota. But within a few hours, both the brothers died. Even after this, many deaths have occurred in Bilaspur region and division due to malaria and diarrhea and patients are being found continuously.

The Chief Justice also took seriously the incidents of carrying a patient in a Kanwar in Kota block itself, and the death of more than 11 people due to diarrhea and malaria in Surguja and Bastar divisions. Let us tell you that diarrhea and malaria have become fatal in the state. The outbreak of malaria continues in Bilaspur district. Villagers have also died due to diarrhea in Janjgir Champa district. A large number of people have had to be admitted to the hospital.
