Health alert : Threat of Nipah virus is gradually increasing in India

The threat of Nipah virus is gradually increasing in India. Cases of Nipah infection have been reported in Kerala. A patient died after being infected with Nipah virus in Kerala on Sunday, he was only 24 years old. Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed this. She said that the Nipah infected patient died in a private hospital in Malappuram.

All 175 people who came in contact with the young man who died of Nipah virus in Kerala are being monitored. Those who came in contact with the victim patient are being tested. So far 37 people have tested negative.

Out of these, 74 are health workers. We have put 104 people in the high risk category. 10 people have been quarantined, samples of 13 have been sent for testing.
