GST trouble: Traders are troubled, summons is being issued
When the central government implemented the GST Act, it talked about a uniform tax, while it was also claimed to provide relief to traders and industrialists. But since this Act has been implemented, hundreds of amendments have been made till now and there is a lot of confusion regarding many provisions. On the other hand, summons are also being issued, due to which this entire act itself has become a big problem for the taxpayers.

The GST Act is so complex that it is not easily understood by any taxpayer. At the same time, the provisions related to returns are so much troublesome that even chartered accountants and good tax consultants become confused.

Advocate JK Mittal of the Supreme Court says that ever since the GST Act was implemented, it was expected that this new tax system would give relief to traders and industrialists. But the opposite happened. Along with controversies, this act has been creating new troubles for the taxpayers.

Even input tax credit is not easily available and clarification is also difficult to get from the officials of the department. As a result, many controversies have arisen due to this also. The central government has also been claiming time and again that the easy tax system has been introduced so that the traders do not have to worry.

While summons are being issued by the officials indiscriminately. Due to this, there is an atmosphere of fear among the traders-industrialists and the taxpayers are being called to give personal statements as well.
