Goa Assembly Elections 2025: AAP Rules Out Alliance with Congress
Goa: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has confirmed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will not form any alliance with Congress for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections.
Kejriwal stated, “Under no circumstances will AAP form an alliance with Congress.” He dismissed claims that some party workers were considering joining hands with Congress before the elections.
Congress Allegedly Betrays Voters
Kejriwal highlighted that the people of Goa have been disappointed and betrayed by the Congress in recent years. Between 2017 and 2019, at least 13 Congress MLAs joined the BJP, and in 2022, 10 more switched sides. According to him, forming an alliance with Congress would essentially mean providing more MLAs to the BJP, a scenario AAP strongly opposes.
Vow to Reform Goa’s Political System
The former Delhi Chief Minister emphasized the need to dismantle the old political system in Goa. “This is a rotten political system involving the BJP and Congress. Now is the time to uproot this system and give the people of Goa a new option,” he said.
Kejriwal also criticized the concentration of power in Goa, alleging that the state’s resources are controlled by 13-14 political families who switch parties to maintain power, loot the state, and deposit money in Swiss banks. AAP aims to provide Goans with a fresh political alternative in the 2025 elections.
