Doha : The fragile Gaza ceasefire is on the verge of unraveling, Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide warned at the Doha Forum, cautioning that the truce could collapse “within weeks” unless urgent political reforms and transitional structures are implemented. Eide criticized the delayed rollout of the U.S.-backed “Board of Peace” plan, championed by President Donald Trump, saying its vague 20-point framework and slow sequencing are fueling uncertainty and fear among civilians.

Eide urged the immediate formation of transitional governance bodies, warning that without order and legitimate institutions, Gaza risks slipping into “anarchy and factional violence.” His comments followed reports of increasing Israeli violations, including airspace incursions and aid delays that humanitarian groups say are eroding trust and destabilizing the ceasefire.

Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares condemned the daily blocking of humanitarian convoys, saying such obstructions make a sustainable peace “impossible.” Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan pressed the U.S. to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to adhere to commitments and curb escalating actions.

Despite months of diplomacy, no country has yet formally committed troops to the proposed international stabilization force, a key pillar of the post-war roadmap. Eide emphasized that any credible transition must center on Palestinian-led demobilization and authority-building, warning that external forces alone cannot guarantee long-term security.

With tensions rising on the ground and political maneuvering stagnant, observers fear the narrow window to preserve the ceasefire may be closing rapidly.
