Fraud of Lakhs : Fake Voter ID and Death Certificate Used to Illegally Sell Property

Ashoka Garden police station of the capital has registered a case of fraud against a fraudster who committed fraud of lakhs by selling plants on the basis of fake death certificate and voter ID. According to the police station, a woman named Shakuntala Rani had told in a written complaint that in the year 2010, she had bought a plot in Subhash Colony located in Ashoka Garden from a woman named Carian living in Jabalpur for Rs 10 lakh.

A few months ago, she was shocked to know that this plot has been sold in two parts to persons named Danish and Bablu for lakhs of rupees, about which she had no information. After this, the woman reached the police station and on receiving the complaint, the police started investigation. Police investigation revealed that a fake power of attorney was made in the name of Carian. To prepare the power of attorney, a fake voter ID card of a person named Thomas Carian was made in Tendukheda, and his death certificate was made from Palwa Panchayat.

During the police investigation, the officials of the concerned tehsils where the documents were prepared declared the voter ID and death certificate as forged. Later, the police contacted Thomas Career’s son Jacob who lives in Bangalore and collected other information. After the completion of the police investigation which lasted for about 6 months, it was revealed that a person named Afzal Ali, who lives in the Iranian camp of Bhopal, had committed this fraud, and he had made a fake Thomas Career and committed this fraud. The police have registered a case against Afzal Ali and the alleged Thomas. ( PLC & GT )
