Four High Level Bridges Be Ready By February 2014: Dhillon

Punjab would soon witness the four state of the art ultra modern high level brides. The Construction work is in full swing and it would be completed by February, 2014 by all means. The total expenditure on these bridges would be Rs 266 crore. These bridges would be opened for the Public in February, said Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon Public Works Minister, Punjab here today. Reviewing the progress of this project Mr. Dhillon said that the bridge at Ludhiana-Rahon raod near village matewara on Satluj River is being constructed with the cost of 62.58 crore, bridge near Abadgarh-Meerthal- Patran on Chaki River with the cost of 61.45 crore, bridge at Jhanda-Lubana-Dhonoa-Mukerian road on Beas river near Dhanoa Patan with the cost of 56.50 crore and bridge at Roopnagar bypass on Satluj river with the cost of 79.61 crore. He said that the 60% construction work on these Bridges has been completed whereas the remaining work would be completed by February, 2014. Mr. Dhillon said that bridge on Sirhind Canal with the cost of 11.44 crore at Roopnagar bypass has been completed which would soon be opened for public. The Minister said that the Punjab Government has decided to upgrade the road infrastructure to de-escalate the traffic problems in the state. He said that with this motive in mind the high level bridges are being built. He said that Punjab government has constructed 6 high level bridges with the cost of 153.01 crore during the last five years.
