Kolkata: Former Congress Member of Parliament Matang Singh was on Saturday evening arrested by the CBI over his alleged involvement in Saradha chit fund scam.
Singh, a former minister of state for parliamentary affairs in the PV Narasimha Rao government (1991-96), was arrested after several hours of grilling.
“Matang Sinh has been arrested in the Saradha reality case on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and misappropriation of funds,” said a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official.
