The sudden closure of several FIITJEE centers across prominent cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, and others has created a wave of uncertainty among students and their parents. Known for its competitive exam coaching, FIITJEE has been a trusted name for engineering entrance test preparation. However, recent developments have raised serious concerns about the institution’s management and future.
Mass Resignations Leave FIITJEE Centers Shuttered
Reports indicate that multiple FIITJEE branches have ceased operations following mass resignations by faculty members. Teachers alleged non-payment of salaries for several months, forcing them to leave en masse. With no staff to conduct classes, these branches have been locked, leaving students stranded during a crucial phase of their preparation.
FIR Filed Against FIITJEE Chairman and Top Executives
In response to mounting complaints, the Noida Police has registered an FIR against FIITJEE’s Chairman, D.K. Goel, Chief Financial Officer Rajeev Babbar, Chief Operating Officer Manish Anand, and Greater Noida branch head Ramesh Batlesh, along with seven other individuals. The charges include allegations of fraud, mismanagement, and breach of trust.
Parents accused the management of negligence and financial misconduct, as fees paid in advance have not been refunded despite the closure of centers. Over 250 complaints were lodged at the Delhi FIITJEE branch, citing fraudulent practices and operational failures.
Parents and Students Left in Limbo
The abrupt shutdown has sparked frustration and anxiety among parents who invested significant amounts in their children’s coaching. One parent shared, “We paid ₹3.25 lakh for the entire course. Now the center is closed, and we don’t know if we’ll get our money back.”
Another parent stated that competing coaching institutes are contacting them, claiming to have recruited FIITJEE’s faculty. This has led to confusion as students are caught between transferring to new institutes or waiting for FIITJEE to resume operations.
