Haryana Secretary to Governor, Dr. G. Anupama said that everyone should actively contribute for the welfare of war widows, disabled soldiers and ex-servicemen who are in need.
Dr. Anupama was discussing with the officers during a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan on the occasion of ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’ today.
Officers of the Department of Sainik and Ardh-Sainik Welfare presented stickers of the flag to Secretary, Dr. G. Anupama and ADC Major Jasdeep Singh SM of the Governor.
Dr. Anupama said that today is the day to remember the brave soldiers of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives for the motherland. On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, the martyrs are honoured and one should demonstrate solidarity towards the armed forces, express sensitivity towards the war widows, the disabled, and needy ex-servicemen and assure them that the whole country is standing by the forces.
Director General of the Department of Sainik and Ardh-Sainik Welfare, Mr. Mani Ram Sharma said that ‘Armed Forces Flag Day’ is a day to demonstrate our solidarity towards the serving and retired soldiers of the Armed Forces and their families through generous contributions.
On this occasion, Joint Secretary, Department of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare, Mr. Bhupendra Malhotra, Ms. Smriti Renu Devi and other officers were present.
