According to a report by India Today, the film’s team has wrapped up its Mumbai schedule and is set to head to Goa for an extended shoot starting in January.
The upcoming Goa schedule is being described as one of the most important portions of the film, both from a storytelling perspective and due to significant changes in the cast.
First Major Schedule After Akshaye Khanna’s Exit
Following the reported exit of Akshaye Khanna, the makers have reworked key elements of the narrative. In a major casting move, Jaideep Ahlawat has been brought into the franchise. Known for his intense and layered performances, Ahlawat’s inclusion has generated fresh excitement among fans of the series.
Industry sources suggest that his character will introduce a new challenge to Vijay Salgaonkar, potentially raising the psychological stakes that have defined the franchise.
Goa Shoot to Resume on January 8
The Goa shooting schedule is set to begin on January 8 and will continue until the end of February. Spanning nearly a month, this phase is being termed the backbone of the film. The entire principal cast is expected to be present during this schedule.
Filmmakers plan to shoot several pivotal scenes across coastal landscapes, isolated roads, and mysterious locations, elements that are expected to deepen the suspense and tension associated with the ‘Drishyam’ universe.
Star Cast of ‘Drishyam 3’
Ajay Devgn will return as Vijay Salgaonkar, reprising one of his most iconic roles. He will once again be joined by Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Rajat Kapoor, all of whom are returning to their respective characters.
