Several Bollywood and Hollywood releases continued their theatrical run over the weekend, with already-running films outperforming new releases at the Indian box office on Saturday.
While a few titles benefited from the weekend boost, others struggled to gain momentum. Big-ticket films like Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash witnessed strong growth, whereas newer releases such as Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and Anaconda saw muted numbers.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri
Starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, the romantic drama failed to capitalize on the weekend. The film earned ₹5.25 crore on Saturday, lower than expectations. After opening at ₹7.75 crore on day one, the film’s total collection now stands at ₹18.25 crore.
Anaconda
The film continued its underwhelming performance on Saturday, collecting ₹1 crore on its third day. Released on December 25, Anaconda had opened at ₹1.6 crore and has so far managed a total box office collection of ₹3.40 crore.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron’s Hollywood spectacle gained momentum over the weekend. On its ninth day, Avatar: Fire and Ash collected ₹9.50 crore. The film, which opened at ₹19 crore on day one, has now amassed a total of ₹126.65 crore in India.
Dhurandhar
Dhurandhar remained the undisputed leader at the box office. On its 23rd day, the film earned ₹20.50 crore, pushing its total collection to a massive ₹668 crore. With collections holding strong, the film is expected to enter the ₹700 crore club soon.
