Developmental projects would go long way in accelerating the pace of development

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 22.68 crore virtually from Shimla today for Sujanpur Assembly Constituency of Hamirpur district.

Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Tehsil Office building at Tauni Devi constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.15 crore. He performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of Revenue Colony at Hamirpur to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.01 crore, Rs. 4.90 crore improvement of distribution system and upgradation of pumping machinery with automation of Lift Water Supply Scheme Duhak, Dhail, Patlandhar and Baleth of tehsil Sujnapur, Rs. 6.77 crore flood protection work on left bank of River Beas from village Beri to Palahi Phase-I and Rs. 6.85 crore flood protection work on left bank of river Beas from village Beri to Palahi, Phase-II in tehsil Sujanpur of district Hamirpur.

While virtually addressing the people from Shimla, Chief Minister said that in last few days there has been a sharp spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the State. He said that this has forced the State Government to organise this event virtually. He said that the construction of Revenue Colony would be completed in next two years and would provide residential accommodation to the employees of the district.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has completed over three and a half years in office and the State has witnessed an unprecedented development in all spheres. He said that the State Government not only succeeded in getting the massive support of the people but also got benevolence of the senior leadership. He said that the State Government despite of Covid-19 pandemic has ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. He said that Budget presented by the State Government has been appreciated by all and has ensured welfare of every section of the society.

Chief Minister said that out of eleven Zila Parishad, the BJP has won nine Zila Parishads.  He said that the BJP has also performed extremely well in Panchayats and other Urban Local Bodies elections. He said that this shows that the people have full faith in the policies and programmes of the State Government.

Jai Ram Thakur said that Rs 12 crore Mini Secretariat building was coming up at Sujanpur. He said that bridge over Pungh Khud being constructed by spending Rs 11 crore would be completed soon. He said that Rs. 37 crore were being spent under NABARD on construction of 12 roads in the area. He said that Rs. 12 crore were being spent under PMGSY in the constituency.  He said that Central Government had also given its nod for construction of Rs. 700 crore Dhaulasidh Electric Project, which would give new fillip to developmental activities in Sujanpur and Nadaun Assembly Segment of Hamirpur district. He said that Electric Sub Station was being constructed at Patlandar at a cost of Rs. 7.50 crore which would solve the low voltage problem of the area.  

Chief Minister said that Rs. 45 crore were being spent on improvement of ambitious Lagwalti Bamsan water supply scheme to facilitate the people of the area. He said that a provision of Rs. 23 crore had been made for construction of various government buildings in the area.

Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating Tehsil Office Building at Tauni Devi to the people of the area. He said that this would facilitate the people of the area in getting revenue related works done nearer to their homes. He expressed hope that the State would succeed in defeating corona under able leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Anurag Singh Thakur while addressing the people virtually from New Delhi, said that all these developmental projects would go long way in accelerating the pace of development in the area. He said that the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated several welfare schemes for every section of the society. He said that the State got AIIMS at Bilaspur, Satellite Centre of PGI at Una and today State have six Medical Colleges in Government sector alone and all this was due to the benevolence of Prime Minister and Union Government. He said that it was possible due to the able leadership of Prime Minister that today India was capable of giving befitting reply to any nefarious designs of external forces.

Former MLA and District BJP President Baldev Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion. He also thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of Rupees to the people of Sujanpur area.

 BJP Mandal President Virender Thakur, Chairperson Block Samiti Anjana, Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur Debsweta Bainik, SP Hamirpur and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
