Today, the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, inaugurated the Kaushambi Mahotsav-2023 and unveiled various development projects in Uttar Pradesh. These projects include the inauguration of 70 schemes worth Rs.405 crore from the Public Works Department, as well as 24 projects worth Rs.51 crore from 12 different departments, including Youth Welfare, Sports, Urban Development, and Vocational Education. In addition to this, the foundation stones of 19 schemes of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana Phase-III worth Rs.151 crore and 4 schemes from the Health and Urban Development Department worth Rs.6 crore were also laid. Many dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, were present on this occasion.
During his speech, Shri Amit Shah noted that development projects worth more than Rs.650 crore had been inaugurated in Kaushambi on this day. He spoke about how Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inspired every Member of Parliament to organize sports festivals, and the Members of Parliament worked hard to provide a platform for youth to play through the Kaushambi Mahotsav. About 16,000 youths applied to participate in the ‘Sansad Khelkood Spardha’ started by the Members of Parliament, out of which 3324 players have been awarded. Shri Shah congratulated all the people participating in the games, stating that the main mantra of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Khelo India’ is to create a healthy body and a strong mind.
Shri Amit Shah then went on to speak about the history of Kaushambi. He mentioned that Kaushambi used to be the capital of Vats Janpad during the time of Lord Buddha and Mahavir, and was considered the most prosperous despite the development of many big Janpads like Magadha. Lord Shri Rama also visited Kaushambi after conquering over Kalinga Chakravarty Samrat Ashoka. He paid tribute to Durga Bhabhi, the great freedom fighter of Kaushambi, who along with Bhagat Singh fought bravely against the British. He also appreciated the Uttar Pradesh government for renaming the Karenti bridge of Kaushambi as Durga Bhabhi Bridge.
Shri Amit Shah then spoke about the achievements of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, including the abolition of Article 370 on 5 August 2019 and the construction of Ramlala’s temple at his birthplace in Ayodhya. He noted that democracy and ‘Idea of India’ are not in danger, but ‘Idea of Dynasty’ is in danger in the country because people have rejected the politics of nepotism and appeasement. He added that opposition wasted time during the budget session of the Parliament and people of the country will not forgive them. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has formulated many schemes for the welfare of the poor and freed the country’s democracy from the clutches of casteism, nepotism, and appeasement.
Shri Amit Shah also spoke about the development taking place in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. A large network of expressways has been laid in the state, and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented a large number of welfare schemes for the poor in Uttar Pradesh. These include the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which houses have been provided to more than 46 lakh people, as well as the construction of toilets in 2.61 crore houses, provision of gas cylinders to 1.75 Crore women, and benefit ( INVC NEWS Desk )
