Delhi Red Fort Blast: NIA Uncovers ‘White-Collar’ Terror Nexus Behind 80-kg Car Explosion That Killed 13

New Delhi, November 12: The death toll in the Red Fort car explosion has risen to 13, with investigators uncovering a chilling terror plot that blends surgical precision with professional expertise. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has identified what it calls a “white-collar terror module” — an educated, tech-savvy network allegedly inspired by Jaish-e-Mohammed’s fidayeen ideology.

Preliminary findings reveal that a car packed with nearly 80 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate and other high-intensity compounds, detonated near the Red Fort Metro Station late Monday evening. The powerful blast tore through nearby vehicles and buildings, leaving at least 20 injured and sending shockwaves across the Capital’s high-security zone.

Officials believe the strike was orchestrated by Dr. Umar Nabi, a medical professional from Jammu & Kashmir, who is suspected to have carried out a suicide bombing. Forensic teams and NIA operatives are currently piecing together how the materials were sourced and assembled without detection.

Senior intelligence sources confirmed that three individuals have been arrested so far for their alleged role in logistics and communication support. Investigators are also tracing digital footprints that suggest foreign funding channels and encrypted message exchanges.

Security has been heightened across major landmarks in Delhi, including Parliament, India Gate, and central transport hubs. The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a detailed report from NIA, while counter-terror units have been placed on high alert nationwide.

A senior NIA officer described the attack as “a new face of terror, where ideology meets intellect — and that combination is deeply dangerous.”

The agency continues to probe whether the module had prior targets or sleeper cells active in other metro cities.
