Dense fog is set to make a return across Delhi and the National Capital Region, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for the region. Weather officials have warned that visibility may drop during early morning hours, ranging from light to dense fog in several areas.

On Sunday, Delhi is expected to see partly cloudy skies, with foggy conditions prevailing during the morning hours. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to remain around 21°C, while the minimum may dip close to 6°C. Officials noted that intermittent cloud cover is expected on at least four days this week.

Saturday brought bright sunshine, offering temporary relief to residents. However, chilly conditions persisted during the early morning and evening hours. The maximum temperature was recorded at 22.3°C, which was 1.6°C above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 7.8°C, about one degree below average.

Humidity levels remained high, with maximum humidity touching 100 percent and minimum humidity recorded at 56 percent. Temperature readings across various parts of the city showed a minimum of 9.8°C at Ridge, 8.6°C at Aya Nagar, 8°C at Lodhi Road, and 8.5°C at Palam.

Similar weather conditions are expected to continue across Delhi-NCR on Monday.

The IMD has forecast minimum temperatures between 6°C and 8°C for December 28 and 29. Light to moderate fog is expected during morning hours on December 29 and 30, with partly cloudy skies likely on December 29.

Wind speeds are expected to remain between 10 and 15 km/h on December 29 and 30, which may help slightly reduce pollution levels. From December 31 through January 2, Delhi and surrounding NCR areas are likely to experience partly cloudy skies along with light to moderate morning fog.
