The Department of Home Affairs and Disaster Management, Jharkhand Government issued a letter to the respective departments and the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts keeping in view the cyclone storm “Fani”, about conducting a control room for disaster management. Department informed through the letter that the Telephone No. 0651-2446923 of the control room at the state level has been made available by the Disaster Management Department, which will remain operational 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Center, Ranchi, the cyclonic storm “Fani” will affect Ranchi and other districts of Jharkhand on 3rd and 4th May with winds blowing at speeds of 40-60 kmph, as well as heavy rain and thunderstorm. There is also a possibility of loss of life and property.
Today, on 03.05.2010, there is a possibility of severe damage from the cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ in Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Due to being neighboring state, directive for safety and security has been given in Jharkhand.
