China has launched a large-scale military exercise dubbed “Justice Mission 2025” around Taiwan, significantly escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait and drawing close international scrutiny.
According to official Chinese media, the drills involve multiple branches of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and artillery units, operating in coordinated maneuvers surrounding the self-governed island.
Beijing described the operation as a “justice mission” aimed at safeguarding national sovereignty, while analysts see it as a strong response to Taiwan’s pro-independence stance and growing regional frictions involving Japan.
